2 weeks ago (mid March) I’ve attended the very nice JSF Days ‘08 conference organized by Irian in Vienna. A lot of important people were there like Ed Burns from Sun, Max Katz from Exadel, Matthias Wessendorf from Oracle.
Members of the JSF expert group provided some insights on what JSF 2.0 standard will offer. Thomas Spiegl and Mario Ivankovits presented a usage example of how Orchestra can speed up developing applications with JSF, Spring and JPA (Hibernate). Martin Marinschek and Michael Freedman explained what the Portlet Bridge does in your JSF + Portlets application. Manfred Geiler presented some cool lightweight AOP concepts implementation that might end in a MyFaces subproject. Matthias Wessendorf demonstrated some features of Trinidad and gave us a preview of the Oracle ADF Faces Rich Client framework, which it seems will be open-sourced soon. Max Katz presented the extensive RichFaces component set with its nice AJAX features.
Wow! Quite some list and there’s much more! You can find all presentations on the conference site!

Hi all!
Welcome to my J2EE blog!
I will mainly expose ideas related to JSF, MyFaces, Spring, Hibernate, JPA and others…
These ideas pop-up from my experience as a J2EE developer since July 2006.
I hope that the future content will be of some help to others.
